AREN’T A REFLECTION OF NEARLY EVERYBODY

no role models come to mind
my thoughts seem to be blind
a white box - without imprint or description
no picture in front of my eyes
who should I take as a role model - do I need one at all?
I look up to you and you
but every so often the realization occurs to me
that you are not one for me
it’s not even meant in a bad way
not a single person who I think of
I have always taken something small from him and her
embedded their characteristics into my behavior
but I have not taken much from a single person
how did I become the way I see myself now
external influences guaranteed, but not a role model that I needed to proceed
there is no one person
I have been developed from hundreds, if not thousands, of versions
from you and you, him and her and them there in the back too
I steal a little bit from everyone
from you I also take my part - without any bad intention
because that is what we all do
give and take - the amount is open for debate
figuring out how much you need is necessary to think freely
I have already tormented myself with the idea of role models
and therefore haven’t selected one really
